just wondered if anyone is using the re-vamped version of Div, as i noticed that MikeDX has the site back up and running and there is a new Div build that works quite well in Windows 11

Hello Puniks!

I still remember the good time with you in IRC. We kept it up for long even after but sadly our channel fell apart last year. Maybe in the future the channel could re-group again.

I am waiting for DIV 3 based on Gemix Studio, as it has been announced a long time ago. Or, I would be happy with an Object Oriented version of the original DIV base.

I am not using even Bennu because it is not Object Oriented, I cannot really do without anymore since I came to use Java SE. On the other side, I am waiting for processes to be introduced in Java SE! It does not permit for small threads, just larger ones.

Hi Rincewind, yes the good old days, i have the updated version of Div at this time,(Div DX Beta 13) as per the new (old now) build and also found a load of my old code from that time zone of my game creation using Div 1 and 2, i did move over to Visual Basic and Gamemaker, (might upload some of the stuff that i have been working on, it that still possible, do people do that now, or is that part of the community dead) with some small success, but i have always had Div on my computers with DosBox, for me its means that some of my old projects under Div can be worked on again, and maybe uploaded here at some point, have not tested the build/create exe options yet, but if they work it would be good to finish some of my earlier stuff and possibly upload to here (cant get the login or register new account to work on Div_arena), but yes i also miss the old chat room, but we can always look to the future with hope i think, anyway hope you and all the old crowd are doing ok, :)

i did submit a small game that i have been working on, its called Capital Punishment, its a 20 level demo, so hopefully the upload worked and maybe if you get the time/chance it might be added to the wips section :)

Good that you found some new languages to use for the current day. I approved your game, it is here:

It is a fun small game!

Yes we are still open to DIV game gallery submissions! I do wonder though whether you ever moved on to Fenix or Bennu? It could have been a natural transition. Also you can try the Gemix Studio beta version to compile an old DIV 2 game to an executable, because it claims 100% compatibility with DIV 2.

Thank you for accepting the submission, i did not try Fenix or Bennu.

i have found a load of old div code for a point and click graphic type adventure that i once wrote for the Amiga and was in the process of re-coding it for div, but after the original demise of div and being unable to run it under the then new windows OS, i gave up on coding for a few years, i have messed about with Gamemaker and Visual Basic, but have not really put any great effort into coding for a while, life moves on and time becomes a bit limited to code, but i might just pick it up and have another crack at it, so maybe expect something from me later in the year :)
